Need some help with the front parking lights on my '61 e-truck. The parking lights will not work when the headlights are on. Is this normal?

Yes this is normal. They are just that..."park lights". To turn them into "running lights" you need to move the wire on the light switch to a different terminal on the switch that has power to it when headlights are on. There is an article in here that describes how the chevy guys had done there's and I believe it's similar to our fords.

That is the way they are setup from the factory. If you want you can make them both come on with a jumper wire in the headlight harness.

Re: E Van Parking Lights
The plan is to remove the front parking lights wire, probably a black wire with a yellow stripe from the headlight switch and hook it to the tail lights wire,,,,,probably brown,,,,,,at the headlight switch or wherever you catch those wires close to each other......
