Here is a shot of what the air ride switches will look like. I took a regular momentary toggle switch, very very lightly ground down the end of it, ran a 1/4 20 die over it to give it some threads. Then I drilled out a knob and tapped it to the same 1/4 20 and screwed it on the switch. Then I used a heater bezel for the background. Now the air ride switch looks like a heater knob.

You've got great attention to detail in your work. You have a knack for fabricating things that are neat, functional and Freakin cool all at the same time. I tip my hat to you, sir!!!

looking good. are you going to secure the bottom of the outer steering column to the floor board? it might be moving and clanking around on the shaft inside when you are steering/ parallel parking.

Sorry I missed the post, yes sir, I am gonna attach it with a little bracket that can come out just in case I ever need to remove the steering column. I have taken a few weeks off the van to try and make some money, but we will be back in action soon.Army of Six wrote:looking good. are you going to secure the bottom of the outer steering column to the floor board? it might be moving and clanking around on the shaft inside when you are steering/ parallel parking.

So, it has been a year, and I think we have made some great progress in that time. I thought I would be driving it by now, but not yet. Although I have done way more than first thought when I started this project. Today is a big day. We got it cranking and I think it may come to life. If she does, I will post a video. Lots of parts coming this week, and there is a chance that it could move under its own power within another couple weeks. I will post some catch up photos of the past few weeks.

Took an original driveshaft from and 93 Mustang and only had to shorten it about 5 feet to make it work in the Econoline. Cute little guy.

We got all the holes in the dash filled, I got the air ride gauges mounted and plumbed, and the switches all wired. I'm putting original Econoline heater bezels and knobs on the switches to make them look like factory.

Used a bead roller and an old metal roller to build little caps to fill in the parking light holes on the front corners. I'm also going to shave the rain gutters and build new hinges for all the doors so nothing is sticking out.

Spending time filling in all the small gaps after the body channel and some holes in the floor that were cut there by the previous owner. Filled in both sides of the gas doors.

Built a brake pedal using a mixture of the arm on the assembly that bolted to the frame and the original arm so I could use an original Econoline brake pad.
