You are right, the bullet mirrors are worthless, can see anything behind with them.

I am gonna use the AC pump as an air compressor for the air ride system. Takes just a few mods. No AC in this one. I am on my way right now to get a tranny for it, the AOD, so I should start to fit her in there next week, I will keep you posted with lots of pics.

love your front bumpers. I was looking at making something similar buy cutting and sectioning some 3.5 inch mandrel bends. ive never heard of using and AC air compressor to fill an air ride tank. be sure to document that also....hell...maybe you should just right a book

All Im doing is copying what you had the balls to do...
I usually use an old York for air compressors, because you can take them apart an plug a small hole, and you have an oil reservoir. For the newer compressors you have to use an oiler. They need oil at the top of the cylinder, and usually the freon does that. Without freon, I just come up with a way to get oil in there. The best electric air compressor put out about 2 CFM, and the York 210 puts our about 9 CFM....and you can pick them up pretty cheap an any junkyard.

noooooooo... you are doing a whole lot more!
as for the compressor...how much oil do they need? hell, could you slap a small filter breather in one valve cover and plum the other valve cover to the intake of the compressor. maybe enough oil vapor being pulled from the motor to lubricate the compressor and you would get kick ass positive crankcase ventilation as a bonus lol. i had to disconnect my PCV lines because they were drawing too much oil into the intake runners and would cause it to smoke after a drive on the free way or if it idles for too long.

That is a great idea, you are always thinking out of the box...I will keep an eye on how much oil is actually used when I run the compressor. That would be a trick set up, and never have to worry about filling it.

I am taking the motor apart to detail it before we start installation, so we decided to work on the dash. I am using the dash from a 1956 F100. Need to be stretched about 8 inches to fit.

Thanks for the kind works, just got lucky that I had it left over from a project that I did. I built a bedroom set out of a 1956 Ford F100. Here is a link to the build.

I had the dash left over from that so it seemed like a good fit.

Looking real good. I have a spare 55 Fairlane dash that I've been considering for my PU. youre pushing me over the edge.
