Re: 3 point seatbelts
Well looks like I am following a trend here. Just ordered ours tonight. I was just talking with a guy this afternoon about some used belts from a Fiero. New plan now..

Is he a rip-off, or is the box heavy? $25 still cheap, are they worth it?
He's prpbably making a few bucks on shipping, but really- a full set of seatbelts, new in box, with all hardware for around $30 ain't bad. Try and beat it.
BTW, they guy is fast with shipping, don't be surprised when a box marked 'Homeland Security and Police Depot' arrives on your doorstep.

Re: 3 point seatbelts
you have to hold the reel still and pull upward on the belt,

Re: 3 point seatbelts
They have a swing weight in them that locks the belt during rapid deceleration. The reel must be vertical for the belt to release- important info when you decide on a mounting location.

Re: 3 point seatbelts
Yep thanks to both of you. Looking at my options with the plastic pieces for my Sporty. I don't want to cut it up.
Looks like I may have to wait till paint to use the reinforced piece for the B pillar and I take the little window out...

Re: 3 point seatbelts
I would just 'box' the B pillar with some square tube....then you can drill and tap the tube.

Re: 3 point seatbelts
For those with interior panels, hit the junkyard and look for a late 80's early 90's GM product. They had the reel behind an interior panel and have a nice, easy to remove, plastic bezel around the belt.

Re: 3 point seatbelts
I just pulled some nice looking ones from some conversion van at the junk yard. They look like they should work pretty well.

Re: 3 point seatbelts
I’m hoping to tackle (start on) this tomorrow for the a100 van. it looks like the stiffener brackets and other mounting thing that came with the belts will be useless for me. I’ll be using tube or angle iron to mount them.

Re: 3 point seatbelts
take some pictures when you get on it, i cant find the time with working on the brakes and oil pan leaks, all the hardware is useless for my van as well, i'll be using angle iron to brace the piller beside the seats,

Re: 3 point seatbelts
The hardware is fairly HMMWV specific, but I think I can utilize some of it. If I ever get home for more than a day.

Re: 3 point seatbelts
lets see some pics of others installations... set ups will vary due to doghouse style or types of seats. My seats are from a s10 blazer. I have flat stock bolted to my seats that I welded studs to that go through the doghouse, inside the doghouse I have another piece of flat stock that the seatbelt buckle piece and seat is bolted to. I made some brackets that mount on my seat to hold the buckle up in a nice spot. I made the bracket on the driver seat loose because my seat is adjustable.
