Has anyone out there tried installing Acura front seats in their A 100 van or truck? The following listing shows Acura seats in the front of the van. I'm wondering how much modifying had to be done to get them to fit correctly?

When I read the ad, that's the first question that I had & I'm curious too as to how he got these Acura seats to fit, so I gave the guy a call (he's a local call) got his answering machine and hopefully he'll call back and then we'll see what he has to say, my worse fear is .......it came that way when he bought it! affraid

Somebody should send this link to the guy in Quebec asking $5K for the beat-up red Fargo...

On the seats, I though it was a pretty regular thing to swap out the early seats for more comfy buckets... Unfortunately, the brackets in my Ford were fabbed out of 2X4s... what a hack job! I have to find some seats, and I believe Fiero were the seat of choice. Acura might not be too far off.

friend of mine has mazda buckets in his A . i tried fiero buckets im 5'9" and i sat too high, the mazda seats are kinda high too. i tried another bucket im thinking escort but memorys kinda fuzzy that far back-didnt like them either. i like and have stock seats in both my A's driven cross country in them and find them more comfy than the plywood seats they put in the cars of today. thats just my preferance. if you cant find any stock seats early B van should work with little work.

To my knowledge, the biggest factor is the width. My econo has (had) explorer buckets with armrests, and the doghouse could no longer open. With the armrests removed, the lid still gets hung up in the armrest mounts.

I'm sure all it would take is a couple lengths of 1/4" plate drilled to match the factory seat bases and the bolt pattern for the new seat. Welding it is ideal, but bolts could work. Now your seat choices are infinite! Just check for doghouse clearance, and then for comfort.

dog house clearance is a big factor. the seats i cant remember what they were out of had the poofy cushin added to the seat but was a pain in the butt when you closed the lid it ate the side of the cushin

Well there's some good news and then there's some bad news about those Acura seats, it's my worse fears come true. Firstly the good news, yes he said he installed the seats himself because he wanted a 3 point seat belt, wanted a seat that was higher back than the originals & of course they're really comfy, now for the "other news", when I asked him about the installation itself, he said those F@#$%^&*! seats I' had one F@#$%^&* of a time getting them in, in essence, this was a good idea gone very, very bad. After talking to him about all of this, for what-it's-worth, if it were me I'd take jkr's Honda seat advice, that's where the smart money is at!!! Cool Best dime I've spent on a phone call today! So now your in the know> scratch

when installing seats remember to leave enough room around the steering wheel. the belly and the wheel sometimes "clash" a bit.

lol! I feel your pain Jeff. We got ourselves a Wii Fit for Xmas and got a free recumbent stationary bicycle from a friend who was using it a clothes dryer. We'll see how long this New Years resolution lasts...

Sounds like a "Jenny Craig Thing"! Is there enough room to move the sliders back so I don't look like a bug that just hit the windshield on the inside? affraid I'm really not wanting to have to look in my belly button for my steering wheel. Cool
