dyslexic windshield wiper motor???

Went to put on my wiper arms, turned on the key, cycled the wiper motor then shut off. Installed one wiper arm and tried it out, wiper goes down!? Removed wiper arm and cycled the wiper motor again, last part of cycle goes clockwise... which is a$$-backwards cause my wipers would be straight up and down when shut off....

any ideas???

Well I assumed the wipers worked when parked 30 years ago or was never touched... looks like the arm that attaches to the motor was installed 180 off... flipped it around and all works great now.
