windsheild wiper switch

hi all- I had an interesting thing happen the other day while out it starting raining of course right after I detailed the outside.
anyway when I got home the wipers would not turn off , so I reached up and pulled the plug off the backside of the switch. still would not turn off !!
the next morning started the van and they turned right off ??
I am thinking the plastic plug has failed ? has this happened to anyone. Anyone know where to source a new plug/pigtail.
I normally would never drive it in the rain but here in bc its hard not too ...

well,,your wiper motor always got juice to it from the fuse box,,,,,the switch, which is the ground circuit, activates the contacts in the motor,,,,,and there are contacts that make the wipers park after you shut off the switch,,,,thats probably what the problem is,,,stuck contacts in the motor,,so maybe a 1 time deal,,,,see if it keeps doing,,,,and get ready to unplug the motor or fuse to stop them,,,,
