    Headlight Relay Empty Headlight Relay

Post by Scott Fri Aug 03, 2012 8:43 am

I've been running on an internally regulated 75amp Alternator since I go the van on the road early this year. Electrically nothings been added, just the basic no radio van with whatever it came with from the factory.

The problem I'm having is when I turn the headlights on the Generator light starts to glow. When the headlights are on, and I use either Blinker, the Generator light pulses with the light. So I know it's not just a dash bulb put in the wrong place.

A friend at work suggested I put a headlight relay in, that the problem has something to do with the Headlight switch in the dash. I'm not convinced, so I'm bringing it the experts..

    That would be y'all

Speaking of Head light Relay...Can someone post a diagram how they wired that type of set up on. I have upgraded my wiring with just fresh wiring, inline fuses and bigger gauge and wiring for Internally regulated alternator but I haven't upgraded the alternator yet. I'd like to do the relay wiring. how to please? And what else have you guys put relays on or added to your wiring as upgrade?

    Thanks,

I haven't had time to work this out yet. I've been spending all my spare time getting the house ready for my daughters graduation party, and hopefully to move in the next 6 or 7 months. Oh, and then there's a couple of hundred feet of fence I'm replacing..

Thanks for the links, I'll look them over tonight. There's some good stuff in this thread, I just need to make time to try it.
