8 BOLT CHROME DIFFERENTIAL COVER ???

I have one on my 1961 Van. Needs replaced. Counted 8 Bolts. See 8 Bolts. No 8 Bolts in Summit Racing. Not sure what's on there ? Help !



Got 4 new BF Goodrich RWL Radials on Saturday. Cragar SS, 10x15 with P275/60/R15 on back. Put Cragar SS 8x15 on front with 235/60/R15.

Tinted the back windows today. ( 15% )

Clifford Header goes on this week. Zoomies. 2 Flowmaster Series Mufflers.

You Have a Stock peanut Rear. Obsolete. A Ford 9" do not have a rear cover.

Poop! I guess I have to rechrome that one ?

Spend your $ on a 9" rear, You light up those tires you will need a tow. Nice looking Van. What engine do you have?

Those were called 7 inch rear differentals. Common in 6 cylinder Mustangs and Falcons. They also were available in 7 1/4" ring gears. They used the same cover. In Econolines the 7's were used behind 144's and the 7 1/4's were behind 170's. Ford offered the nine inch rears in Heavy Duty and 240 Econolines so it's a bolt in swap. It can be hard to find parts for the small rear axle but they are available. Many just upgrade to the 9".
