Re: Talking about your Sand,,,
Here's a weather map of AZ, which is some of that sand to your east.
I'm up by Prescott. I did NOT want to live in the southern valleys like Phoenix.
EDIT: This actually updates and shows the true current temps!

Re: Talking about your Sand,,,
Phoenix has all that concrete that holds the heat,,,,and the sun will do you in,,,,,if you are parked outside you will burn your hand on the door handle, steering wheel or seat belt buckle if you touch them,,,,,and don't reach for your tools if they are sitting out in the sun either,,,,you got to know the rules of the Desert or you will get into trouble real fast,,,,,,,

Re: Talking about your Sand,,,
Everywhere we went was along the coast. All within 10 miles or less of our hotel. The furthest we had to drive was to see the lighthouses and the Aquarium in La Jolla. We did still manage to put 200+ miles on the rental car.

Re: Talking about your Sand,,,
,,,And Nightmoves,,,,this is kind of what the weather is in the Summer here,,,,way cooler along the coast,,,REALLY hot in the eastern desert section of the county,,,,,so you got choices of what temperature you feel like,,,,most places there is no escape,,,,,and when the electricity gives up,,,,,life gets pretty miserable

Re: Talking about your Sand,,,
Yes, the southern Cal Area has what they call micro climates. 5-10 miles makes a difference!

Re: Talking about your Sand,,,
That map tells it all, Rod,,,,,,there definitely is all kinds of different weather in San Diego,,,,,,,,and basically there is the coast along the Pacific Ocean, then there is an inland section that goes up to the mountains, then there are mountains and then, after the mountains, you drop into the desert,,,,,,and when the wind comes from the east, from the desert, it comes over the mountains and then it falls and compresses and gets hotter while it goes west,,,,,and that Ocean pretty much keeps the temperature along the coast, at 72 degrees all year long,,,,,and it rarely rains,,,,,I live in Ramona, on the west side of the mountains,,,,,,so even though it is nice and cool at the coast, you still got to drive through hell for about a 1/2 hour to get to it,,,,,,
