Laundry Basket(case)
Well folks, I took the plunge.Bought my first van('virgin'...go ahead grin,I did!)Ha! Its a '69 Chevy 90.Found it up in Ky.Guess I got lucky Wideload didn't find it first and put it in his 'Fleet'. lol jk I reckon they're be plenty of questions, or directin to the archives for futher instruction.I'm as green as this thing is when it comes to vans,be prepared. It reminds me of my dads old van he had when I was just a kid.His was an old laundry service van.So it dubbed the name Laundry Basket.Maybe its not already taken.Reckon first thing I need to do is learn how to post a pic.lol

Re: Laundry Basket(case)
First off...Mike thanks for postin those pics I sent you.I dunno what I was doin wrong, but I kept getting a 312 error[?)and my pics were'nt being uploaded.Something I need to work on.
Second...Preciate the comments ya'll. Back in the fall,I googled on vans,It led me here & VCVC,did a lil lurkin for a while,then joined & started jumpin in w/both feet.Ha!
'G',so far plans are to makin some room here & gettin her home.Mechanicaly, fairly sound, not my major concern for the moment. On the rear,it does have a broken leaf,at least its not the mount. It does need seats[or at least one].Seems like Feiro are the hot ticket to have[Ha!]Some sheet metal needs replacing, but I can live w/what I have for now.I found a company that has some patch panels.I was gonna ask if anybody ever dealt with any of them that has these patches and if their worth a damn or not.
Its just a basic lil van,6 banger,3 on the tree.Something I can fool with lil at a time. But one thing I've realized.this is one project I can collect parts and store in the same vehicle.Haaaaa !
See ya... ---Moe---

Well.....Long time since I've able to put somethin here. Finally stopped postin, went outside workin. It was a good day today!
Took out the old radiator, replaced bad water pump, and put in a rad thats good.
After a few minutes, had the old girl runnin! Needs a lil tweeking, but I believe she'll be ok.So tomorrow, believe I'll sit my narrow azz on that 2x8 & cruise around the block for the 2nd time ever.Next...carb rebuild and replace springs.

Re: Laundry Basket(case)
Moe, You can either cut & crimp the tubes or remove them and plug with short bolts. Either way works.....

Re: Laundry Basket(case)
If you're going to lose the hubcaps, you should also put some fresh white paint on the bumpers and on top..
When you get done with that come back and I'll give you something else to do.
Just trying to help..

Re: Laundry Basket(case)
Decided to jump in,out with the old points type,in with new HEI distributor.Went to Old Board for research first.I read on the pink wire for power supply under seat.Instead of just cut/splice what I did,was remove pink connector, move to a spare hole on other side, put in new spade with power(red wire) to distributor.Works like a champ! Still need to tidy up wires a bit, thats another day.Just glad I have HEI now.Biggest PITA...puttin doghouse grommet back in the hole.heh
