What was the 1st ride that you owned?

My 1st ride was a 1964 Pontiac GTO that I bought when I was 14 years old for $50 from one of my older brothers. It was a sharp solid car with not a speck of rust on it no where. My brother had just traded for it & got hurting for money & offered it to me for $50 which was a great deal to me. I had big dreams of driving it when I got my drivers liscense then a few weeks later my brother came back crying & begging me to sell it back to him so I felt sorry for him & sold it back to him.

My first ride was a 53 Ford 1 ton with a flat head 8. We removed the wood box and rear end and put a 56 box and rear on it and made one drive shaft out of the two. Took several leafs out of the front and dropped it in the weeds. Repainted it original Ford black, mags...what a ride. Wish I still had it.

1965 GMC I got off my Uncle for about 200$. Had alot of fun thru HS with the tincan.

my first ride was a buick opel. my dad snubbed his nose at anything with a v 8 so i bought this. it lasted 26 days and then i got a '62 ford . ive been hooked on '60's cars since. couple impalas, a few gto's, old pickups, evan had a few work trucks, '67 c40 and '6? f350 both 12 flatbeds. i was into classics when they were just old cars.

I was clearly born in a different era than you guys. You had the cool cars!

My 1st car paid $500 of my own money 16yrs old 1989 Honda Accord. Finally gave out around 245,000 miles.

I learned to drive at 11yrs old. A 1988 manual for mustang and 1994 Ford escort. got to love back country roads and cool uncles who let you drive. Memories you'll have forever...

my 1st. ride my dad bought me in 1964 was a used car.-a 1962 chev impala 2door SS car ,buckets , 4speed, and a 409 engine!! No kidding.Bought in austin,Texas & we lived in san Antonio(san Antone for u texans) Had that one 2 years about - gas was cheap & yes i did go thru some tires!! Next one was a new factory special ordered 1965 impala ss 409 4 speed car again. Yeeeee Hawwwwwwww you dont want to know my next ride was- darn sorry i sold that 3rd ride too!!

Perfect Example of What I meant by you guys had the cool cars. Id love to have one of those impalas now!

1962 Ford Sunliner Convertible, it was a hand-me-down from my Dad. It was a hit with the girls in HS, as I would pack them in and haul them home after school! lol

First one was a 68 Chevy 108 panel van. Black with torque thrusts, straight six, 3 on the tree.

Got away from vans and have had quite a few musclecars and others, almost all Mopar.

'77 firebird with aftermarket hurst T-tops, royal blue with a white interior. Wish the michigan salt hadn't claimed it. I was thinking of finding another one when I found my first A, and I've had the bug ever since.

1948 FORD Coupe was my first car bought it when I as 14 worked on it for two years to get it in running condition Baby blue with chrome reverse rims dual exhaust Flat head V-8 cool old car.

My first ride was a 1964 Chevelle Malibu SS with a 383 stroker and T350. My brother lost his license after a drunken hit and run when he was 17. He traded his 1967 Camaro with a LT1 350 transplant motor with a Saginaw 3-speed for the Chevelle. It didn't run and had a fair bit of cancer. One day when I was 15 he threw the keys to me and said "here, it's yours now."

I've had two more since then and it will always be my favorite of the Chevelle line.

The first car I owned myself was a 1974 Z-28, my brother drove a '72 Plymouth Scamp with a 360. My two cousins had a 79 Trans Am and a 78 Stingray.

Our high school parking lot was something to behold, Dodge Demons, Chargers, Challengers, Nova's, various Camaros, Impala's, Chevelle/Malibu, Mustang Mach I's. I remember Led Zeppelin was the high school favorite band in the year book

1968 Mustang with a 289.

It was ten years old when I bought it from the original owner and had just over 100,000 miles.

I bought it just before I graduated from High School, then a year later bought a 1965 Econoline and discovered that I was a van guy, and eventually sold the Mustang and bought more vans.

64 1/2 Mustang... Mom gave it to me, after giving it up for dead (all that was needed was a new battery, which was stolen while sitting for rescue, and the trans serviced... which "dad" did and had to use a putty knife to clean above the filter)...

She bought a Pinto... which I learned to work on...

My Mustang was in my HS yearbook as a few other vehicles were in pictures of the front of the school... where that book is now....

Had a 67 VW bug... No battery ever! Had to park on hills all through High school and my high school sweetheart helped me push-start it everywhere we went! Hmmm. Funny! 31 years later she's my girlfriend today! She still talks about that old bug and "Date-Night" (Rebuilding the carb on the dining-room table)

At 13 I got a 1963 Beetle (very similar to the one below).
Put many miles on it driving up and down Crystal Beach!

My Father gave me a VW pickup when I was 14yrs..
The first one that I bought was a 1969 Boss 302..Payed $1000 for it wasted the motor and sold it for $500..

Wish I had them both back

1972 Pinto Wagon... man do I miss that car

course then I had to go and trade it and $100 for a 68 383/4sp Road Runner

I miss my 1977 Bandit Edition Trans Am!!!

My Dad gave me a car for my 1st Birthday May 10th 1952. I still have it.

Like a jerk sold them all....Highest $ I sold one
for was $13,000 for the 64 coupe! If only we knew then what they would be worth today

My wife's 78. Its in the garage right now. Not a Bandit Edition, but its still pretty cool.
