this is what i'm going to try, it will have a "watts" link to keep it centered. just have to find more time to work on her.

That looks great! Would triangulated upper arms work with a panhard bar??

i don't see any reason why it wouldn't work. i just wanted to try a watts link to eliminate most of the side to side movement.

Yea that's true, You think going that route will cause too much side to side? Any pictures of how your mounting the front bars to the frame?

i was more concerned with using two different length panhard bars on the front and the rear, because of the rear being tubbed.

That's a real nice setup! Did you make that block where the front bars bolt up to at the front spring mount? That's the stock mount correct? Sorry for all the questions!!

ask away. yes i did make the pivots. i went to a local 4x4 shop and picked up a pack of poly bushings then made the blocks to those diminsions. it is mounted to the stock front spring perch. i used 4140 pre heat treated steel from a scrap shaft at work. it is Rc 30. tough, but not brittle. since i'm not able to work on my van at the time, it still feels good to talk about it Smile the bars are 1" dia. 1/4" wall 4140. i still need to make the jam nuts, among other things.

    Wild Bill, that looks great!

I kind of wonder about fabbing a bolt-on bracket through the leaf spring u-bolt holes, rather than welding... Actually, I wonder about a lot of stuff, and my brain is full of thoughts... bottom line is I like what you are doing!

i was originally going to do an axle over spring, that's why the plate is on the bottom of the axle, but after i mocked it up, i didn't like how close eveything was so i decided to bag it instead. i also thought about doing a bolt on batwing, but decided on welding instead. i plan on adding a bolt on secondary bracket with the lower bag mount, incase of catastrofic faliure. if one of the welds would break due to running over something in the road, at least my axle would stay under the van till i can get stopped, i hope Smile
