changing over to automatic found a 69 a100 with a 225 with a727 trans will this trans bolt up to a 318 any help greatly apprciated

Does it have an adapter plate? Some /6 had v8 trans and used an adapter plate, so if it has one take the plate off and it will bolt up. Don't toss the plate someone will probably want it.

Short answer, no. I understand that only early /6s had the adapter. Later ones have the /6 bolt pattern and will not interchange with a cmall block pattern.
If you can find a small block 727, the internal parts and rear shaft/tailhousing can be swapped to make a V8 shorty trans.
Talk to your local transmission shop about this before buying stuff. They may have the correct core or a core they can mix/match to build what you need.

look at the case. if the starter mount is high no it won't work with a v-8. simple as that.
