    I RECENTLY AQUIRED A 65E AND IN THE PROCESS OF RESTORING IT.I NEED A LITTLE MORE INFO TO BE SURE I'M ORDERING THE RITE PARTS.WOULD BE GRATEFUL IF ANYONE CAN HELP....VIN#E14JH604865 WB-090,COLOR-M,MOD-E141,BODY-489,

    Here's your decode.

    E14 = Econoline van series, short body
    J = 240 engine
    H = Lorain Ohio assembly plant
    604865 = October 1964 serial number - 1965 model
    090 = wheelbase
    M = Wimbledon White paint
    E141 = Econoline van model, short body, "3/4 ton" or "heavy half ton"
    4 = beige standard interior
    89 = van body style
    A = 3 speed transmission
    04 = 3.50:1 heavy duty axle (9 inch)
    4350 = "3/4 ton" GVW rating
    129 at 4000 = certified net HP at RPM
    71 = Los Angeles sales district

    EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED DUANE!!! YOU DA MAN!!! MANY THANKS...BUT YOU ALSO CREATED A PUZZLE FOR ME TO TRY AND FIGURE OUT. WANT TO HELP? I KNEW YOU WOULD...HERE IT IS...MY VIN PLATE SHOWS 129H.P.BUT THE AIR BREATHER STICKER STATES "240cu.in.&150H.P.,WHICH ONE IS TRUE???

    Hi Bill,

    Just by the blue paint I'd say that air cleaner is off a later model engine. Your air cleaner should be black.
