I've driven my VW Bug from Orange County(Disneyland)to Vegas & back at least 5 times at about 75-80 the whole way and have yet to get any of the local keyboard jockeys on this forum to even drive the 20 miles to a van event or meeting!!But had a guy drive his 59 bus out to our run in the middle of the desert this year.So all u import haters need to put your money where mouth is.DRIVE YOUR VANS!!

Wow, what a bunch of closed-minded vans snobs. I know I'm new, but I'm not sure that I'm gonna fit in here. Maybe you're not always like this.

I noticed a Large set of GOLD Bumper Balls on a guys lowrider last yera- I was amazed. Also noticed where some citys have banned this along with the shorts & pants arond the guys knees!! As far as the scoobydo thing im sure it will greet me as soon as ive gotten the van on the road.I just realize that it just shows the mjentality of the person that says that too. Happy Vannin

On another line of thought , seeing as it is all about Icons. We could have gotten stuck with much worse,, Power Rangers, Barney or maybe even Bozo...

This ends now... I have locked this thread from further comments because I have had my fill of the hate talk and insults...
Everyone is welcome on this forum, Scooby lovers and Scooby haters alike, but you must agree to disagree without the name calling etc... Respecting another's point of view goes a long way and demonstrates the kind of person you are.
Yes the younger generation associates the early vans to Scooby Do, because that is what the media has taught them about our vans. I would hope that the reference would open up a conversation with those who are not as early van savvy and the seasoned vanner could educate and enlighten them beyond their limited exposure to these wonderful vehicles. You may even make a friend or at least convert them to a deeper appreciation.
We are all created equal, but we are not all the same. We are all unique individuals and each of us has his or her own distinctive contribution to add that gives balance and variety. If this were not so, we would all look the same, dress the same, eat only one thing ALL the time, do the same thing time and again, watch one movie, listen to one song, watch one TV program, and if we all thought the same way, there would be no need for conversation and god forbid no one would ever have a new thought or idea which would leave us eating raw meat in animals skins, a wheel would never be invented so it wouldn't become attached to an import OR American made vehicle anyway....
Some of you have very strong opinions, and that's fine, but it doesn't give you the justification to disrespect another point of view. There are no right and wrongs here when it comes personal likes or choices.
Cherish the past, live in the moment and embrace the future.
If any of you feel I have been to harsh, sorry... Don't let the door hit you on the way out...
