Does anyone know where I could find a thermostat housing adapter plate for a 250 inline 6 ? On its trial run it blew a hole in the existing one and I am having no luck at all finding another. Parts stores carry the gaskets and the thermostats but not this part.

Good to know there is a source for brand new ones! I've heard they were very hard to find.
Dan, do you know what yours are out of? I like yours better than mine (and the new one) because the heater hose comes straight out. Mine points upward but in our vans the hose needs to go downward on its way to the heater core. I'm thinking mine will want to kink someday. I figure the straight ones are for our vans and the upwards one is for all other cars and trucks which have their heater cores higher.
Plus, I'd say our stock ones probably came with just the one hole for the sending unit (on 1st Gens anyway).

Yep, All the one's I have came off of either a 230 or 250 and are all this type. the 230 in the Sportvan and the 250 from the Panel both still have this exact one.

I put in a gauge thermostat along with the dummy light. I figure the light gets my attention more then the gauge. I just plugged the bottom one.

would also be helpful if you use hot water to heat intake like required for headers.
