Has anybody put a 4.0 liter V6 engine out of a ford ranger pickup in these vans. Someone told me that might be a good option with OD trans and transfer case for a 4X4 setup because you could have a longer rear drive shaft. the 2003 model has 207 hp and 238 ft lbs. And I know most of you would want a V8 but overall length makes a difference.

Re: SWAP A FORD 4.0 V6
its a 90-92 chevy 4.3L V6 factory roller cam, throttle body injection. i chose a chevy because i already have a 700R4 rebuilt sitting in the garage from a previous project. as for why a V6 vs a V8...well this is my daily driver. i would like a bit of fuel economy. oh, I forgot to mention it will be turbo charged That should give me the best of both worlds. economy and get up and go when i stick my foot in it
