what rear end would be best to run with the 200? right now there is a 4:11 in there. looks like a 3:50 would be a little less insane on the freeway.

Re: rear end for 200
what is a good vehicle to get one of these from? i guess i'm looking for a bolt in solution for the high rev problem. hopefully there is a car that would be compatible and laying at pick and pull five minutes away.

The only bolt in is from an Econoline like yours. The 3:50 would be a good choice for versatile driving. Might not be a bad time to upgrade to a 9 inch while you're at it too.

a nine inch would be great, what have some of you used? are mods required to the unit? thanks

Re: rear end for 200
I had the 7" with 4.00 gears on my 200 when I got it. Found a parts van with a 9" and 3.50 gears. Big difference! (You could almost go to a 3.00 for highway but I would imagine you'd lose a lot of grunt around town.)

A 9 inch from an early Econo is a direct bolt in also but you 'll need the driveshaft with small front yoke and big rear to make it mate to the trans. or you can have one made.
