What's too fast?
After install of the new LS motor My van felt light at 125 mph. Still thinking a super charger might help.

Re: What's too fast?
Put on a drag chute 1st. Then when the van gets high or sideways you can deploy the chute to easily straighten it out!!

Re: What's too fast?
while I think having an ls1 is “kinda neat” going 125 seems… kinda… not too wise. I mean, if you wanna go fast, not just 0-75 fast, but over 100 mph fast… something with the aerodynamics of a vending machine and the suspension of a mail truck isn’t meant for the audobahn.
post a video… I’ll look at it, but don’t think I wanna ride in it. I got a car that will safely do 155 mph (damn electronic limiter) but I wouldn’t try that kinds of speed on my whirlpool fridge, it’s best at what it is made for, keeping my food and beverages cool and dispensing ice water through the door.
just my opinion.

Re: What's too fast?
i doubt i will ever see 125 in my van. i am comfortable at 50, both hands on the wheel and full attention on the road at 70! i started with some go-fast parts shortly after buying it but quickly relized brakes and suspension just arent up to it. already have all the brake parts but no time. evan with better brakes and better suspension, its still a big box. 125 sounds unrealistic, are you sure the speedo is right? use a gps, check odometer on a long trip or find one of those signs that show your speed. better yet, keep driving at exactly 125 mph and wait til you get stopped, the officer will tell you your exact speed and you can calculate the difference and change the speedo gears to correct it.

Re: What's too fast?
I had a similar problem with mine going light over 100mph. I purchased some sandbags, about 75 will do it. You won't fit them all inside the van so you will have to strap some onto the roof, but it made such a difference. Mine hits 150mph no problem now....

150mph.... pah I hit 176mph in my A100 trying to put Jeremy Clarkson's theory to the test that you CAN beat a static speed camera at a certain speed....

Re: What's too fast?
I agree with austinmodhouse. Anything over 70 in one of these buggers is like trying to make an appointment to meet Jesus. I'm not ready to go just yet. They should have called them tillers instead of steering wheels because on an Econoline the response time is about the same as a boat when steering the damn thing.

And maybe a little air on the front wheels at the lights would be kinda nice, just to show the young'ns what old skool is all about..67a 100 pickup wrote:Ahhhhh, who cares about top end???? It's all about the BURN OUT and the size of the tire smoke cloud in one of these babies.
