Is it common for the fuel pump to be upside down? I just got the van and I was trying not to pull the engine cover off. And the only way I can get it to work is upside down. Just does not look right. and the filter only gets 1/2 full.

Thank you. The fuel pump I got is a Airtex part# 6399. I could only get it installed with the fuel ports facing up. sound right?

First welcome to the site. If you have the 170 engine in your van that pump is the correct one. Yes, it looks strange and upside down but that is the correct install and it is normal for the filter to look half full. Hope this helps.

Sorry about the info on my previous post, I was thinking 240 but my fingers typed 170 so yes, the pump you have is the correct one for a 240. Your's should look like this.
