I installed a small block engine in my 2nd Gen -this way- Had only the small block assembled- removed the top cover of DH - then craned in the shortblock & lowered. After bolted in & trans on -I then installed the heads & exhausts & intake. Yes -takes a little work yet as Im working on soft surfaces (Dirt) =(no concerte garage) I couldnt jack up the whole front of van.Took me about 2 hours in all - Ive had harder r&r's than the van. actually easier for me =Happy Vannin
