Need some assistance concerning wheels. Someone told me that the wheels off a Ford Ranger or Mustang will fit our early Econoline's. Is this true and if it is does it matter what year Ranger or Mustang? Thanks ahead of time for your help.

most will work. I got a cheap set of used mustang wheels with decent tires. look for 15 inch 5 lug ford wheels.

The bolt pattern is 5 lug on a 4.5 inch circle.
AMC/Jeep, Older Mopars and Fords all share this pattern.
One thing to watch for is the center hole, which can be a different size.
The other common pattern is Chevy which is 5 on 4.75". Then you get into trucks (bigger) 6 and 8 lug patterns and the modern metric stuff.
Mustangs up to 78, later ones are 4 lug until you get up to the late 80s when they went 5 lug metric.
All this is online if you search.

One set of aluminum ranger wheels I tried fit the bolt pattern but I would have had to install longer studs to get enough threads for safe attatchment....Just an FYI

Ranger and Aerostar rims fit, but as Magic Bus said, aluminum rims are thicker then steel, so might require longer studs.

Sixties through early seventies rims -- Maverick, Mustang, Fairlane, Falcon, Ranchero, Comet, Cougar, Marquis, and Montego.
