Re: 67-68 mustang 9" rear end
i was told that the van rear ends are too narrow for stock early mustangs. But it was just a couple inches. Tried to sell one of my parts van rears to a friend and thats why he said it wouldnt work after he measured it.

I'm not a ford guy, but what about using a 9" rear from an early bronco?

Re: 67-68 mustang 9" rear end
I was lucky to find a 66 parts van with a 240 and 9" rear (motor was shot, but I didn't care). Originally I just wanted the front axle out of it but the owner would only let it go if I purchased the whole thing. It turned out to be a parts gold mine, so I would suggest looking for the whole enchilada then taking what you need and selling the rest. I recouped almost all of what I paid for my parts van by selling what I didn't need, and found not only the front axle I required but a perfectly good 9" rear that was an easy swap.

Re: 67-68 mustang 9" rear end
Econolines are what I do!! and buy them as they are not coming out in the yards here anymore much at all???????? and when they do come out, way too much money to buy parts from and then sit on trying to sell them, not enough profit to justify sitting on a lot of cash, if you understand what I mean.
Some points to remember,,,, I have been telling everyone for a long time now, keep the upper and lower tanks at a the least from the 240 radiators,, they are NOT AVAILABLE anymore!!! also,, If you have the complete gas pedal setup, I would be interested in purchasing it from you, as I use them in my V8 conversions with my custom throttle cables I make. Glad you scored that is the way to do it, funny how we ALL start with one in the yard?????????
