van was running so good today, took her for a nice cruise down to the beach...on the way home 5 min away from my house...BOOOM drive shaft is dragging on the ground...looks like the caps just cracked and the universal wiggled its way out..oh well. i had to walk home and get my other car to tow it back. fun stuff, figured ide share with ya-ll

So when you look inside the cups, do you see rust in there instead of grease?

Ill be honest, there was no rust, I just greased them maybe a month ago when I got the truck running...but I will say they did seem pretty dry. Who knows the truck say for 25 years on gravel so anything could have been in there. It was time for new ones anyway

,,,,,maybe check the trans and engine mounts to see if they caused the driveshaft to come apart,,,,,

Motor mounts are brand new and tranny mount is still pretty solid...I was looking at the u joint and it looks all scored up...maybe a pin broke or let go inside...or better yet maybe a pin was missing from somone prior to me
