Just wanted to share this in case anybody else ever has this issue...
I could feel a small but annoying vibration in my 200 6 cylinder in my 67 van...usually around 1200- 3000 rpms... You could feel it just by revving it up in nuetral..so I knew it was rpm related...not a driveline isssue.
I had previously replaced the harmonic balancer in hopes that maybe it was out of whack/balance?
Seemed like maybe it helped a little...just not enough..
Well the clutch did not appear to be working properly but it did work..but it chattered on take off or when you would feather it.....So Ive had it on my to do list...
When I got it apart I immediately noticed that the pressure plate/cover was wierd..two of the fingers were down...and one was up..
The guy that fixed it said two of them were worn out....I said could that make it vibrate?...He said very likely could...I was still skeptical that was causing the vibration..
I put it all back together ..new pressure plate...new disc..new throwout bearing and had the flywheel resurfaced...
Works slick and VOILA! The vibration is completely GONE!! I am all jacked up!!! I got two for one on that job!!
Now if I can just get this column back together, and get some paint on it... and get the interior done...and...and....and...and....
