Somewhere between a license plate and a coffee can lid.
I like using something like 18ga, sometimes you can still cut it with air shears.but the pieces in a floor patch are also "usually" small, so 20 might even work okay if there is support for it. Kind of depends on what you want to use to cut it. JM2C

Mine already had the license plate/fiberglass treatment to cover the ripples from a previous wreck, and is a lot further gone now so I have to put in a lot of metal. At least 50% of the floor.

Floor pan question
Im inststalling my new floor pans this weekend in my 67 A100. I used 18 gauge steel. It is fairly easy to work with and with a few bends in stategic places it is very strong. I'll try to post some pics later today.

I got your pics and they look great, what did you use to roll the indentions in with??
To put the pics here
Left Click on the host an image icon (6th from the left)
left click "browse" find the file on your computer with your pic in it
double left click on the pic, and the left click "host it"
left click "copy" at the end of the "IMAGE:" line
it might ask you to allow access to your clip board (mine does)
Then left click in the text block where you want to add the pic, Right click and paste it,
To add another pic left click the UPLOAD button and do it again.

Duane
I used a bead roller to make the indentations. I was lucky enough to be able to borrow one. Harbor freight has them but kinda pricey if you dont have a continuing need.
Thanks for the tip on the posting. Ive been trying to do just what you said but my computer locks up before the picture code goes to the clipboard.

I was looking at Harbor freight and trying to justufy buying another tool that I am only going to use for one project. I figured the only way to buy one is to make up some extra floor and try to sell it.
