Re: Temp gage wire
I could be wrong on this=??yet?? I do believe its not just a "Wire" that goes from gague to the sender on engine. Its filled with a fluid? that conducts temp from sender to gague or is a type that gives a "Resistance " value to the gague. Believe that must be totally changed over with a new unit?? or= You can also go to an "Electric " gague & sender Thats wierd with regular woring from gague to sender. The old style you have i believe was called a "Mechanical" gague. The earlier ones wewr only replacable as a complete unit. Happy vannin

Re: Temp gage wire
i just happened to be flipping through my manual and read that the gauge uses electrical resistance to measure both fuel and temperature. I would assume that your wire would be insulated. do you have any pictures?
