How close are you for your van to be "finished" to your liking?
Poll
My van is about this far along until I would say "perfect"

It would be interesting to see what stages you all are at in your opinion.....

I have to say I'm at the 50% level , trying to get it to 51% lately has been tough. (alot of back steps last month)

I would like to think I am 70%, but when I look at it there shure are a lot of loose ends to finish. Painting was the biggest item on the menue. I still have a few spots to finish buffing. If the wife and I can stay away from the doctors for a while if would be on the road a lot sooner!

I say about 70% but I will quit on it since I have her running and go back to work on the '66 Slick... I will pick up with the Econo when the Slick is done... at that point, I may decide that I am not as near to the 70% as I thought..

Chebby, I think maybe you need a " It ain't gonna happen " catagory, I don't see myself ever stop changing things in some fashion or another.

With the kids el camino, the '68 van, and the pickup it is hard to get anything done. The el camino needs a drive train, '68 van need paint, and the pickup is probably 2 years from being done.

i would say about 70% gonna replace the motor this winter and change to an automatic. Make the doors seal to the point water doesn't get in and then the dreaded interior....and at the say time get the body work done on the 54 cab...11 years and still not done

20%
I've come a long way but Ive got a long way to go still, I'm doing all the mechanical first before any paint/body/interior gets done.
I still need to rework all the suspension (shocks/springs/rims/tires/brakes) and the remainder of the drive line (change the outer seals/bearings in the manual trans, rework the drive shaft) before I can start on any of the other stuff.

First to answer the specific question I'd say that I am probably only 20% to 30% finished as I am only in the depths of restoring my A100.
I've only post a few pictures here of my van here but I'd started redoing my van back before joining the site here. As I am also a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACS) and since I had already begun a thread on that website I chose to keep it there and not double post my activities/progress updates. If any of you have an interest in reviewing that thread I've provided a link below. Scott...

Absolutely true. When I think of my van, I think its finished...but when I really think hard I can create a whole list of things I would do for it if I could.

Well, it's stripped down, so that should be at least 5 percent.
I have a good motor and a fresh transmission, so that should be another 10 percent. I have the wheels and tires I'm going to run, another 2 percent.
Most of the dents are knocked out, and over 70 percent of the welding is done.
Still have to finish metal work, then blast the whole thing, then prep and prime.
After that, the blocking and paint is being handled by a friend.
I've been cleaning and sorting fasteners. Still have some bigger parts to get ready (latches, window regulators, brake stuff, and chassis).
Still have to rebuild the wiring harness, and send off the chrome. Buy the weatherstrip and other supplies.
Then assemble, which should be at least 30 percent!!!!

The key to getting them done Magic Bus is try to do something everyday. Even if it's just cleaning parts the little here and there adds up. Make big jobs smaller a little at a time. Don't give up!!!

After gaining some confidence, ideas from here and tools ,Some of my "wanna do's" have moved to the "gonna do" list. Think I may have moved back to 50%.

One more door and it will be ready for the glass. Then on to a 700-r, and 0n to start the interior. I have lots of red cedar sawn up for the walls and ceiling if we can get it tounge and grooved to my liking. Bamboo flooring, and a platform above the wheel wells out of white maple flooring. Nieghbor is eager to do the upholstry. He had a shop in Conn. Wife wants the rims painted red. What do you guys think on that? I kind of like the Argent silver.
