Re: Interesting pics of Earlys
It is hard to see them that way, but from the looks of them someone got some parts to save another.

Re: Interesting pics of Earlys
It is sad to see the state of some of these trucks, but in some cases the parts that are robbed from them are to save others like Chris said.

I noticed that too and thought to myself that those would be good parts to cut off that thing.

Thought I would post this. This was from the Twilight Cruise at the NHRA museum in Pomona last month. 65 Econoline gasser pickup.
And my favorite lady of all time!! Probably the only thing I would trade my A-100 for!!

Re: Interesting pics of Earlys
Chris! Really? Linda has been working for Hurst since 1966 and been through I don't know how many buy outs of that company. Linda is the whole reason my A-100 came about. I met her when I was 10 and her and I hit it off really well. I was in love with her when she told me how much she liked Kurt Cobain and Nirvana. Linda introduced me to Bob "Hemi Under Glass" Riggle when I was 14. Bob had just finished building the Hemi Xpress and that was the exact moment I knew I had to have an A-100. I credit Linda and Bob as the inspriation for my A-100. Linda is a super lady her and I have hung out alot over the years. She has introduced me to a ton of people over the years. One of the coolest meetings was one year she introduced me to Don Prudhomme when we were at the PRI show in Indy. The next year Linda and I were walking around and we ran into Don again. She went to introduce me to him again and before she could do it Don goes" I see Mike is still hanging out with you" As he pats me on the back and says "Good going son".. ahahah. I nearly crapped my pants thinking that Don remembered who I was let alone my name. Linda has been really good to me, she has been kinda like an aunt to me. However I don't find my real aunts hot by any means!!! I just want to make that clear. hahahaha
Here is a pic of Linda and I from the US Nats probably in 1997.

Re: Interesting pics of Earlys
Oh yes Jungle Pam!! She is another I think has gotten better looking with age. I can remember as a kid looking at my dad's old hot rod magazines at pics of Jungle Pam. I have always been a huge Jungle Jim fan, I wish I would have been around to see that guy race in person. He was a true showman!! As much of a showman as John Force is he will never be able to top Jungle.

Re: Interesting pics of Earlys
Hemi , Great history you have with Linda. Glad to hear she is doing well. I remember her in the old Ramchanger ads.
That Corvair is cool. I don't remember seeing one with that big a bowtie in the grill. I wonder if it's stock???

Re: Interesting pics of Earlys
Hey G-man, I am not too sure if that is stock or not. When it comes to knowledge of the Corvairs I am not up on them. The bowtie kinda looks stocks but like you mentioned I too have never seen another one like that. I'll see if I can find some other pics of that van. and post them.

Re: Interesting pics of Earlys
This Corvair is sitting beside the A-100 pickup I posted on the first page. They are sitting in a junk yard in Lagrange Georgia.. Anyone live close to there that would want to save these? If so here is the contact for the yard. Waugh Enterprises, 1640 New Franklin Road, La Grange, GA. Phone: 706-884-4242
