Re: Baker's 2009
I'll be going, without the van Im afraid .It would be very wishful thinking, to much to finish on it. I do however have an odd assortment of 1st gen parts, mostly brake and engine stuff, If any of you guys may need something in that dept let me know Ill see what I got and toss it in the P'up.

Re: Baker's 2009
crazee, never a fee and never will be, like when I contacted you before. It's about the vans not money. We do have a charity raffle, but if you don't want to get into that it fine. (but talk to others who have, no one loses in this raffle)
Digz van or not you are always welcome. I'm guessing we'll see the 65 next year I bet. And hopefully my 64 also???

What's the "recommended" local campground in that area?
Shook my van out yesterday on a long run (150 miles) & all is looking pretty good.
May be ready enough to make this meet and combine it with a nice Michigan fishing/camping excursion while I'm at it.

Well,
I was planning on attending........but things higher on the priority list came up that will prevent it.
Guess I'll be looking at the pictures after & looking toward next year.

Crazee after you see how Chris(G-man) stuffs the goody bags so full you'll understand why for some of us there is nothing higher on the priority list than Baker's. It's on my list for sure.

Re: Baker's 2009
Got the "camo" van running yesterday and actually got to put 5 miles on it before the doghouse and belly pan goes back on. Looks like I'm gonna make it in time for Baker's. Still debating on covering up the "brush" on camo job with black rattle can primer or leave it as is just for the sake of conversion.

Well...........I'm sad I won't make it as my 67 Chevy is more than up to the hop to Michigan.............but "HOME PRIORITIES" are most important.
Hopefully..........next year.
I do intend to make the Van Slam in August though...............Hope to see a few of ya there.

Have Great new we will be having Vintage Van T-shirts for sale this year. The cost is $20 each. So save a little cash for one. This is some of the last ones chebby has and pretty sure they won't be made again. (for a while aways)

Re: Baker's 2009
Six days and counting...... G-Man, let me guess...the van is washed, ready, and all loaded up for Baker's. Am I right? All you have left to do is load the cooler and put on some clean clothes (hopefully, LOL!). I will have the dashplates and awards picked up on Wednesday. Can't wait! And whoever Chris put in charge of the weather - we are counting on you! See you SUNDAY!, SUNDAY!, AT BAKER'S!!!

Re: Baker's 2009
I'm hoping to make it this weekend if my van is fixed in time. My wife and I were heading home from Ikea this past Saturday when the van died while driving down the highway (the same stretch we lost a hubcap on only an hour earlier). Right now I'm at the mercy of a BP station we had to have it towed to, which is about two hours away from our house.

G-Man, I know you will have limited sleep for the next several days but just one word of advice if you don't mind - - - remove the cover before you leave for Baker's! Just Kidding! You do an outstanding job on the Baker's evant! Woodward Cruise #1 - Baker's Cruise #2! Lost Wire, hope to see you there. To all - drive safe! Billski

Re: Baker's 2009
Rather than force my van to go faster than it likes on the highway I decided I wanted to do my own little cruise to Milford. So I will probably take something close to the highway avoiding route that google maps shows. Its US12 over and then north through Ann Arbor, its a 4 hour drive that way but I like to just drive and not worry about how fast I get there. I wanted to go Saturday so I wouldnt be rushed for time. I bring this up cause I was wondering if anyone else was going to be driving in on Saturday close to the route I want to take. If so we could meet up and make a convoy.

Re: Baker's 2009
JC not a bad thought taking the slower road after all our vans are 40+ year old. Plus I'm sure it will be a nicer drive that way. Look forward to meeting you.
