HVM I swapped out the manual tranny for an auto that small hole in the end of the yolk allowed the transmission fluid in the auto trans to leak out..still don't really know why the hole is in there, but after searching the web and calling a few tranny shops they all said to spot weld the hole and or jb weld it...yes i i have seen the pesky dirt dobbers clog many a vent lines...mostly on harleys tranny vent lines....

The dirt dobbers are bad down here in Georgis. The little Brats have stopped up 2 brand new $40 dollar ignition switches 2 winters in a row on my lawn mower!!! I just bought another van a few months ago and they had stopped up every hole they could fine available on the engine & tranny. I am still cleaning up their mess. I think that most of the auto transmissions has a breather tube to also. There should also be one on the rearend to. I would also suggest that you inspect it to. They stopped up the one on mine alond with all of the other stuff.

    Ken here from BuildThreads, Inc.

Congrats and nice work whopman - this build thread was chosen as a Best Build Thread pick for this week. 1966 g van has a new home - Page 8 Hat_tip

What this means is that a bunch of guys who like to build stuff (cars, trucks, 4x4s, bikes, cabins, boats, planes, and garages) and have read a ton of build threads, thought that this build thread makes a valuable contribution to online DIY culture.

    So, without further ado:
