G-man, I never noticed the shaved door handles before. What are you going to use to open the doors? Hidden button or something?

wacko it will have a hidden buttom for the front doors and the gullwing. The back door will be stock opening. For the only reason that I have went to too many car show where someone has to break out a window because they lost power or a bad battery. For the back doors I'm have a buddy make a custom handle so that won't look stock either.

a good remedy to keep from breaking windows over a dead battery are those moroso remote terminals. you can mount them under a wheel well or right on the inside of a framerail, in case you need an unexpected 'jump'. we used this trick on a friend's shaved S10.

    Gas cap mod done
    Project "G" - Page 8 100_1231

This filler tunnel looks stock, but with the new cap setup the old one wasn't big enough for the angle so this was redone also

Next job is to roll the front and rear pans

I agree. Chris, glad to see the "hole" is gone. It kills me to see holes like that cut into vans. It looks great. The filler conversion came out great as well!!!!!

You can run an emergency cable to release a door if you lost battery power. That way you can do all the doors, thats what we used to do in show cars with shaved handles.

For your entry system...have you ever seen the magnetic version? Kinda like the button method you mentioned, but you have a magnet on your keychain and a magnet in your window, or somewhere close to the door (or even IN the door, if the metal is thin enough or the magnet is strong enough). I did this on my '60 Pontiac and it worked slick! Nobody could tell what I was doing to get into my car...even if I showed them several times. Wink

By the way...I dig the mods, man. The gas door is killer! I have a couple of windows I'm dyin to get filled in...as soon as I'm done with the starter/battery/cable/heat soak/etc issues.

Got this scoop air cleaner today for the 64. No motor in the 64 yet so my 69 is acting in as the model. It's big and about 1/4 inch to tall, but I'll make it work some how

Business has been slow so even that is going slow. The hope was to have it done for Baker's next year, but it looking more like 2011 Baker's
