Didn't know where to put this, it's not print or tv, and the van is a VW (but it IS a forward control VW)
This is an update to a story on the radio show Car Talk, about a woman dating a med student who lived in a camper van while attending college. Despite one of the hosts originally comparing van dwellers as similar to cavemen, she continued the relationship anyway. When he graduated, he got a job offer on the east coast, and that's when they both decided to drive the van up into Canada, then across, all for an adventure. the hosts warned the van would break down every 150 miles, and they wouldn't be together when the trip was done. In fact, one of the hosts originally said, "It'll be an adventure that you can tell your grandkids. Of course, you won't be having grandkids with THIS guy, haha" etc.
Whether you like VW's or not, this story might be interesting to anyone who has or is considering a long distance adventure in an early type van.
