What are you up to?

Re: What are you up to?
I performed my very first paint job Saturday on my roof. The roof has had 4 sunroofs and a 30" X 30" picture window in the past. Careful welding and lots of block sanding got it back to stock. Next step is painting the drip rails and down all 50's turquoise.

Re: What are you up to?
Thanks to everyone for the compliments. I had a bad experience with a bodyshop years back and will never go to one again. Everyone I asked to paint my van in my garage is too busy. So I guess I have to do it myself. I rebuilt my first engine last year and it is running great. If I can do this all by myself then you guys can too. Take a chance at something you've been afraid to try. You just might surprise yourself. It's websites like this one that have inspired me. Wylee, I think my paint colors are the same as your van.

Re: What are you up to?
I painted some door jambs today since this is the last warm day for awhile. Thank you Panelmanrd for the very kind words. I was going to paint my doghouse since I pulled it out, but thought it might look cool having the aqua & black trunk paint on the inside facing the engine. Has anybody else done this? The rest of the van is getting urethane single stage. I love the look and shine it gives, especially after about 4 hours later it seems to gloss up even more. If anyone is wondering, those wheels are very old Ansens. I bought all four for $25 in 1985 when I bought the van.

Re: What are you up to?
67 A100 pickup - The center caps are made by American Racing. When I had the tires mounted the shop also sold wheels. So I had them test fit center caps until we found a pair that fit. The caps are slightly loose, so I wrapped electrical tape around them and pushed them into the backside of the rims before mounting on van. Take your wheels to a wheel store and I'm sure you'll find something that fits.
