Some did and some didn't. I think it depends on the windows in the doors or it could have been and option. I've got 4 second gens and none of them have interior rear view mirrors but two of them are solid panels. The two with windows both had the external west coast mirrors. My two first gens both have windows and both have the interior mirrors.

i am going to put one in her but if there is an oe floating around i would like to go that way. the po took off the west coast and put on the ford style universals, wish he would have left them alone.

Maybe someone else will chime in on this. The first gen type show up on e-bay occasionally but I'm not sure what a second gen even looks like. Check with Bills66 or DanTheVanMan they might have one from the vans they are parting out.

I had a rear view mirror in my 69, took it out because I didn't like the looks of that mirror (it wasn't that bad just knew there were cooler mirrors out there) It now has a first gen base w/ a olds mirror I picked up at a swap meet

Hey done; does your mirror shake when you drive. Mine does at certain speeds and I am wondering if they are suposed to have an extra suport l;ike I have seen on some other vehicles. Right down behind the ball joint on the mirror of my 65 (on the windshiel side) there is a socket. I have seen vehicles with a post at that place going to a small suction cup on the windshield. Comment?

Well Michel, my mirror works perfect at all speeds. And there is not much movement if I tug on it. If your bracket moves a lot then maybe that header that the base is screwed into is loose,,,,,maybe spray some foam behind it to stiffen it up. And do you have the factory mirror head,,,,those aftermarket ones just don't seem to give a solid view,,,,they just seem kind of blurry, factory ones seem to be kind of tinted......
