Ha! I bet you thought you were going to find all sorts of info about swapping out your stock wheels for something more to your liking. A place where you could find answers to questions like "How big of a rim can I go up to without messing with the leafs? What back spacing should I be looking for? How wide? And what tires are you guys using?" Maybe you were hoping to read about re-arching your leafs to raise up the back or drop down the front. Well, that's where you come in. Let's all pass along our experience on what worked and what didn't so guys like me (with their first A-100) can make the decision that's right for them. Whadda ya say?

Was I being too clever for my own good? Just looking for what wheels and tire combos you all are using. I'm hoping to upgrade to some Cragars in the not too distant future. Smile

4 1/2" backspace 4 1/2" bolt pattern , i have some stock 15's kicking around . i live in ct , mopar made a nice magnium/rally wheel that fits on our rides, for that muscle car look. ive seen the early 70's style on trucks and my 68 had the early ones late 60's . they were 14's too. can usually get these at a swap-meet or if theres a lot of mopar guys at the local car cruse. i sold my 14's to my neighbor for 150. he put them on his satalite convertable.-ben

oo3, any rim from a Volare or a Duster or Dart or Belvedere or whatever should have the 4.5" bolt pattern and the right offset.

Mopar Rallyes come in 14" and 15", oem and aftermarket. They have a center cap and a trim ring. You cannot fit a dog dish cap to a Rallye for that you just want a steel rim.

My van has 205/75/15 and I find them a little skinny looking but a nice height.

I like the wheel/tire set up that Billski is running on his chevy. I just picked up a set of 14" x 7 Cragars, but not sure what size tires to put on them. I want that same beefy look as Billski's...

I've run a 275/60R15 on an 8" wheel on the rear and a 225/60R15 on a 7" wheel on the front on a few of may A-vans over the years.

My 67 however will be getting 225/70R15 all the way around on stock 15" wheels

Rims and Tires 101 Empty tire sizes

Post by Hawkrod Tue Dec 23, 2008 9:29 am

Hope this helps anyone who needs info on how to figure tire sizes etc. I had no idea what all the numbers/letters meant on tires or how to figure sizes. The guys at Big O were very helpful...I bought some 225 70R 14's....the "225" is the width of the tire - 225 mm wide. The "70" is the height or profile of the tire, it is the percentage of the width - 70% of 225mm (158mm tall). Learn somethin' new everyday.... ~h~

Rims and Tires 101 Empty rims and tires 101

    Post by 67a 100 pickup Fri Jan 30, 2009 12:47 pm

My 67' has rims that are similar to american racing "apsen sprint" polished wheels with 225-70-14's on them and my problem is whether to keep them or go back to a stock wheel and hub cap combo, but I can't find any pictures to see what "stock" would look like on my pickup?? My other problem is how "stock" to go on this truck since I am the 3rd ower and it only has 46564 original miles on it???? Suspect
