Better late than never...I had a list of van/travel tunes that I just found stashed. Meatloaf-Paradise by Dashboard Lights; Queen-I'm in Love with My Car; Stray Cats-Hot Rod Gang; Commander Cody-Hot Rod Lincoln; Jan and Dean-Dead Man's Curve; Chuch Berry-No Particular Place to Go; Ronny and the Daytonas-G.T.O.; The Beatles-(Baby) You Can Drive My Car; ?-Wake Up Little Susie; Wilson Pickett-Mustang Sally; and of course Sammy Johns-Chevy Van. And my favorite loooong song - The Core by Eric Clapton.

Funny how this topic popped up again while I was sitting here watchin old you tube videos. Now I ve been known to rock out with some pretty harsh stuff myself but right now Im checking out some mellow oldies. Its the kind of stuff for the morning after when your head feels 3 feet thick. I heard an old Chiago tune( been a fan since a little kid) today that kept playing in my head reminding me of my youth(Questions 67 and 68) and after watching that video it lead me to others which lead me to some old America tunes and Bread songs. Dont throw eggs,I know it's mellow but these are some really good old videos of the guys in their younger years. That's what I love about you tube. Seeing it exactly how it was back in the day is so awsome. Even though these 2 groups were kinda mellow, both were very good. I like it all, just depends on my mood.
My music taste runs the gammit as they say. Rock,Kid Rock, classic rock, country,Frank Sinatra,it's all good. Been known to listen to just about any type of music, even some Indian stuff recently on a local Lexington,Ky station that showcases alternative musicians. They play a lot of Bluegrss,Blues, andmany other types of music. Check the listings on their website for the wide variety featured,it's called The Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour. I first saw Allison Kraus on that show before she hit it big and thought man that chic can really sing. Now she recently released a CD with Robert plant, who woulda figured that? By the way Im a huge Zep fan also. Makes me wanna get to the Nats next month and do some jammin. Im way overdue!

I burned a MP3 of this guy for the van today...

But sometimes it's Thrash metal and other times it's Gordon Lightfoot! It's all about mood. I think Uriah Heep, Jethro Tull, Wishbone Ash etc gets the most air time in the van though.

Crazee, there is one type of music that drives me up a wall and you just hit on it. I dont think my grandpa ever listened to Zappa,Thin Lizzy,The Kinks,Zeppelin,Montrose,Blackfoot,Hendrix,Robin Trower,Little Feat, or any of the other bands I ve listened to over the years.
All I can say is it's down right sacriligous not to like some good ol Frank. What's next, you gonna trash Tony Bennet too:-) Dont even start rippin on The Rat Pack.
