Favorite crusin' songs
This is kinda an odd ball topic but I was just wondering what everyone's favorite crusing songs are? I would have to say some of my favorites are Truckin' by the Grateful Dead, Dragging the Line by Tommy James and the Shondells and Running Down a Dream by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers plus anything by the Offspring is always good driving music.

Re: Favorite crusin' songs
Rush - Moving Pictures (includes Red Barchetta), Who - Who's Next (Going Mobile and My Wife), Stevie Ray Vaughn's version of Little Wing - most anything by Steve Miller (Take the Money and Run), Incubus, Yes, Floyd and of course Zepplin also works for me. And that's just the start...

Depends on my mood, but at times VAN Halen's Balance album works just right.

Re: Favorite crusin' songs
Speakin of the Who,I dig a little Eminence Front when Im cruisin. A little Goin Mobile never hurts either. Im a big Who fan and was in attendance in Cincinnati when the 11 people got trampled to death. A sad day in Who history for sure and a classmate of mine was one of the ones killed. I ve often considered a van project dedicated to the Who and the 11 people that died in their attempts to get inside and beat the crowd for a good seat in the days of festival seating, now long gone.
Way too many good cruising songs to name them all but a few favorites of mine are Drive My Car by the Beatles,ZZ Tops Cheap Sunglasses, and on a long cruise Terrible Ted's Great White Buffalo:-) Side note, Alice Cooper just performed locally 2 weeks ago.

Re: Favorite crusin' songs
It's been over 30 years, but Eighteen and School's Out still gives me shivers.
It's time to put the old Maserati away
So you look for a garage, you think you see a garage
Wait a minute, Hey!, there's one up ahead
And the damn thing's open
Hello! Get in there!
- Ted Nugent / Wango Tango
Gary Newman - Cars, Golden Earring - Radar Love, Ides of March - Vehicle, Phil Collins - In the Air Tonight (who can forget that Miami Vice pilot)

Re: Favorite crusin' songs
After I brought my van I home I put together a special mp3 CD consisting of nothing but tunes from 1968 (the year it was made).
When it comes to music my tastes are all over the map, though if The Beatles were a religion I'd be there every Sunday. Aside from them some other stuff I've been listening to lately would go like this:
Led Zeppelin, Rush, AC/DC, Van Halen, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, White Zombie, Pantera, Lamb Of God, The Who, Deep Purple, Janes Addiction, Marilyn Manson, The Stooges, and Kiss.
Beach Boys, Dick Dale, The Ventures, David Bowie, The Cars, The Police, Devo, Weezer, Jesus and Mary Chain, Joy Division, Trio, Joe Walsh, The Ramones, The Clash, Public Image Ltd., Pink Floyd, Elvis Costello & The Attractions, and Talking Heads.

Frank Zappa- torture never stops(original varsion), Captain Beefheart- keep on rubbin live in london'74, Hooker n Heat is good too, course the Captain is an aquired taste and not for everyone. im surprised no ones added Deep Purple hiway star or space truckin or Rainbow long live rock n roll or man on the silver mountain. and i have to add Jethro Tull saw him in august for the 40th annaversary tour ,Ian is awesome so any Tull tunes fit right here too.

Re: Favorite crusin' songs
Thought about starting a "Cruisin' Song" thread, did a search and here it is!
Radar Love (already mentioned here) has got to be my favorite.
I was a little suprised that Seger's "Turn the Page" wasn't mentioned.
I wore out my "Silver Bullet Live" 8-track cruising 11th Street back in the day!

Re: Favorite crusin' songs
Lotsa good stuff mentioned and a few I would change the channel on, but that's normal.
I dig a good blues song when rolling too.
Here are a few more obscure artists that aren't played on the Classic Rock stations every day.
Rory Gallagher, Ten Years After, Elmore James, Tommy Bolin.
Newer artists
Eric Sardinas, Audioslave, Black Crowes, and a big favorite, The Cult.
This begs for an open road
