2nd Gen Windshield

Post by K-Noods68 on Thu Jul 09, 2015 10:40 am

I'm sure this has already been discussed, but is there another model Chevy that has a windshield that is interchangeable with the 2nd Gen?

Does anyone know of any companies that still produce or have a stock of them?

I'm sure that I could remove mine and take it to a local glass shop, but I'm also sure that I'd need to remove a kidney or two to pay their price.

Thanks in advance.

My windshield was around 300 bucks installed, and I supplied the new seal. But with that price came....cleaning the area of any rust issues, especially where the nose meets up with window frame and applying a sealer to the windshield frame. Also my windshield came from Germany and is 2mm thicker then standard glass for this van.

Windshields are =STILL being produced! Wholesale glass companys here & abroad have them & are in stock in usa. The glass retail shops will "Hose" everyone on glass -I know!! I only deal with the small independent mobil & small shops here. I also call & deal with the large salvage yards-junk yards as i know them! and they will get you any glass you want! 4 years back i was @ a large junk yard & asked - told yes can have in 1 day for me & price then was $122.00 + tax!! Therefore if you cant get a good deal on glass where you are at?? pm me & i likely can get one shipped to you !! So far under 400 bux that these glass companys quote -you will want to Tip me!! I dont mind helping anyone out .cheers BY the way the glass rubber seal can be had in molded 1 piece -= expensive or in bulk i am told.

I got one last year from ACE Glass in Midlothian, Va. $148.00. Shocking, I know. They were cutting some new mirrors for me and I asked on a whim.

To answer part of the original question though; no, they are not interchangeable with any other model.
