This may have been posed before.. But I just found it.
Got to YouTube, and search Corvair Rampside VS Ford Econoline truck. There will be a B&W picture of the ford and 2 guys behind it. Check out the brake test affraid affraid affraid affraid affraid affraid affraid affraid

Watch the brake test closely. The passenger is sitting as far ahead in the cabin as he can. His butt is against the window!!!

Chevy propaganda. I tell you. I've stood on my brakes as hard a I can and never came close to doing that. If you watch that truck when it's driving you can see the back is all jacked up and the front is riding low. No telling how much weight they put in the front floor to get it to do that. Sad thing is the Corvair could have probably beat the Ford in most categories as is. Stacking the deck in their favor just made them look scared. The Corvair was a pretty decent vehicle. Independent suspension all around made them a better driver. A little underpowered but so was the Ford. Bench seat made them more user friendly. Uneven floor was it's biggest fault. I've owned both and the each had it's good and bad points.

There is a cool You tube video with Jay Leno talking about his Corvair. By the time Chevy fixed the problems, Ralph Nader had ruined the brand.

I agree about it being a one sided ad , stacked for chevy. But I bet it worked back then.
