Windshield wiper assembly Empty Windshield wiper assembly

Post by pilotmtnraider Wed Nov 27, 2013 7:57 am

Ok fellas, I need some help with the windshield wiper assembly. It was all taken apart when I purchased the van a few years ago. Could anyone tell me how it mounts to the front of the van or have any pictures of what it should look like. I think I have something missing, just need to know if I will have to fabricate something to make it work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just went through my 67 manual and it doesn't have a diagram.  Your best bet might be to meet up with another early econo owner and check it out.  The original gaskets, nuts, and bezels are still available from C&G.  The gaskets are leather but I recommend using some silicone to augment the seal.

Here are a couple of images from a 66 ford pickup, the econo is very similar, bottom image is from my van:

Thanks Murdock. That helps a lot. Seems I don't have the correct parts. So I guess I will be looking to find some. Thanks again.

No Problem.  Another tip is you will need a tool to tighten the bezel nut.  I made one with my bench grinder but they sell them at C&G as well.

Theres a long bracket that whole assembly bolts to. The bracket should be up under the dash painted black and it has holes in it that line up with the wiper transmission holes in the body. You need to make sure you get the correct bracket for your year vehicle as there was a change. I'm sure I have one on a parts truck.

Thanks Tim. I have the bracket and motor. Just looks like the arms and stems that hold the wipers are the wrong ones. I will try to get a pic up tomorrow.
