Re: Dead 318 :( :(
Update
- New rev counter
- Better pics of the panels with carpet, not strictly 'period' but look tidy.
- Fresh oil and filter.
- New curtain rail with a few 'groovy' curtains up thanks to the GF.
- New top hose fitted (exciting stuff...)
- New headlights - fortunately off the shelf at a local parts place.
- Set of flow masters sat in a box waiting to be fitted...
- A steel frame bed that changes from bed to seat - like in a VW bus.
The van did 20 odd miles over the weekend, between the beaches in North Devon - Happy Days.
MOT in a month... shit balls
To do:
- The exhaust (still...)
- Upholstery + Foam for bed
- Wheels (Cragars are knackered)
- A million niggles...
Peace

Re: Dead 318 :( :(
Hey Dix
It was imported by somebody a good 10 years ago, it has been in the UK a while. I have papers to suggest it was sold from a California dealership when new.
I got it from a guy just under a year ago from London with some niggles, slow work in progress but it was excellent to get out and about in her this weekend. The photo's do her a little too much justice! Some bodywork will be required in the not so distant future, I guess she is nearly 45, i'll let her off!

She is a beauty - Glad to hear you have the engine sorted well enough to drive. Keep up the great work. If you need any pieces/parts, give a shout.

Re: Dead 318 :( :(
Thanks Bone man! Will keep the offer in mind.
No mega updates, I am currently fitting the exhaust system myself from pre-bend 2" tubing, I have also got hold of a gas tank filler pipe thanks to Joe (A100 Wrench).
Everybody loves a picture:

Re: Dead 318 :( :(
Sorry - left the filter on the mobile phone so not normal colours, you get the idea though.
Some progress -
New exhaust system fitted. Flowmasters attached to the headers on a mild steel system made from 2" pre bent pipes etc... Sounds much better! Jetex sell pre-bent pipes for over axels, with the ends flared and slotted it was an easy job, obviously not a stainless custom job but it cost 1/4 of the price.
New rims,
8x15 255/60/15 Cooper Cobras
6x15 195/65/15 Firestones
Wheel Vintiques 63 series - the dog dishes are poor quality, i'm pretty sure they will fall off first speed bump! Time will tell.
I got a new fuel tank filler pipe from the states and fitted it to the tank, a closer step to everything being as it should.
Peace

Re: Dead 318 :( :(
I like the stance on that van a lot, I'm planning on getting a pair of 15 deep slots for the back of mine eventually
