Since the block is cast iron an arc welder with a high nickel rod should be able to weld up the hole. A friend welded a cracked bell-housing once that way.

Re: So the Journey begins
Craig I've got a 66 with 170 and manual transmission I'm going to pull out once the snow flies. I'm going to do a V8 conversion so I'm not going to need anything, the engine runs good but it's gonna need new gaskets and rear main seal. Let me know if your interested and its yours, looks like a nice van you got

That would be great Jay. Let me know what you want for it and when you pull it I will come by and pick it up.
Thanks

How's $150.00 sound, I just put a new starter and complete tuneup on the engine within the last week. You can have the complete engine, trans, and driveshaft if you want. If you want to hear it run I can cruise by or you can come over before I pull it just let me know thanks

That works for me. I am on Highland just off Rt57 here in Grafton Township. Whatever works best for you, if you want to come by you are more than welcome or I can come your way. Its not far for sure.
