    Bodywork begins . . . Empty Bodywork begins . . .

Post by misterbee Sat Dec 10, 2016 4:36 pm

After a long hiatus, my ePup is back at Hot Rod & Chassis (HRCC) in Addison, IL and work has begun.

The van was frankesteined together after apparently a very bad crash. I was able to find a donor vehicle from Bill (thanks, buddy!) and the parts were cut off and sent to the stripper.

HRCC pulled the roof and windshield pillars off the the donor van and will be using other parts to repair damage that we found after stripping down the vehicle.

I posted a gallery here if you want to take a peek:

What a great thing to see those parts going into such a great project. I'll bet the shop was happy to see so little rust!

Hey Bill - yes they were very pleased with the result.

After they cut off the roof skin and windshield pillars, the metal reassumed its former correct shape, so no harm done from the saguaro which fell on that poor van.

Thanks for your help with this.
