    I know that LED tails are $$$ and some just can't swing that kind of coin. I think I found something cheap that would be just as bright.

    Also if you want to make them brighter paint the inside of your tailight housings gloss white

    Yes, they are bright.. I have them and they do make a world of difference.

    Halogens usually burn spit hot though.
    Have you had any problems melting the plastic lense covers?

    There's a guy with awesome high top A near me that had his housings powder coated white. He said it really helped make them brighter.

    I don't have these in my van and can't tell you about the heat, I have the super brite 1157 bulbs with the white paint they are very brite.

    itruns I was thinking of doing that very thing to the housings on my 64.

    i painted my housings silver it did make a diffrence.

    No heat issues with mine. Their not any warmer than standard 1157's. I have them in both the front signal's and in the tail lights.......

    great tip. So they don't tend to overheat. Another question... do they draw more current than standard 1157s? Are you guys running high output alts?

    That's great to know.
    I'd heard that they quit making the Halogen floor lamps and such for in home use beacuse of the number of fires started by them.
    They were burning at about 400+ deg F and if they got knocked over, or too close to combustables >POOF!<
