After almost 3 years of being on the Quest for a van I finally found the right fit.
I had been looking for a window van but they have never showed up what I wanted for the price range we were willing to invest.
Luckily a few days back one was posted here and I contacted Anthony in Portland and my wife was ecstatic! 1964 Panel Van, no rust, some minor body imperfections but a good price and Anthony was a pleasure to deal with.
So as of about 15 minutes ago, when the paypal payment was sent, we are the proud owners. I am finalizing the pick up and delivery with a transport company this afternoon.
The most exciting part is all the custom detail I will be doing. I program an inspection machine called a CMM for an Aerospace design and machining facility. I make a lot of CAD models and have been doing my own fab work for 15 years. (Racing Bike frames, Go Kart Frames, Custom parts for cars).
Recently I built my own 4 x 8 CNC Plasma table and have been looking to make parts for vans and other vintage cars. I have had a lot of great ideas but until I can FIT one to a van, it is hard to say how it will work. Now that I have a van coming this will all change and I will be able to concentrate on real quality parts.
The van will be for my wife, she has wanted one for years, so I will be making it more of a She Mobile than a HE, but it will still be cool.
Will start a build thread once the delivery is made and the real fun begins.
