First I do know what this part is for.It was first available in 1965.I`m
curious if anyone is using this on their econo now.The econos I`ve had
two 65s, two 66 super Vans and one 67 Heavy Duty Van, did not have it on
them I found this part in my 66, in the back of the van.In a box full
of other parts.I`ve never saw it on a econo, but its unique shape had to be
important. Some years later in the process of restoring my 65 van I came
across this item in the shop manual. Not sure if I had thrown this part away
I went threw my car part boxes.I dont like to throw out anything unless I
really have to.
I finally solved what had bug me for so long. And I`ll be first to say I`m still learning about econos.Realized this part wasnt being
used on any of the econos, that should have used it.Its not a priority
part. Its not going to risk the danger to a person driving. And it already
has a support where it goes.
So I belive over time, the owners or mechanics just left it off
like so many other items.Such as the belly pan and even the the jack setup
under the driverseat. I`m going to use this part on my 65 Restoration Van.
Just for the fact that Ford did have it on there and I belive its some what rare. What is this part for 65 66 67 How many Know Dscf0027

That looks like the oil bath air filter support on the carb side of the enngine.

You can just see it in a couple pics in this tread on converting the oil bath to a paper filter.

Thanks Linoman,I guess with the driverside support
and the carburator wing nut hold down was plenty for the
early econo owners.
