    Maybe this should be under the General Discussion section, but anyways...

    If you have upgraded to electronic ignition, do you still require the ballast resistor? I know that the original Mopar electronic ignition systems had them.

    When I had my Allison electronic points eliminator I ran the resistor, but since the addition of a MSD 5 box I did away with it per instructions. From my research a factory electronic setup uses the resistor, aftermarket ones vary.

    Yes all the mopar electronic conversions will still use the ballast resistor

I know that the original Mopar electronic ignition systems had them.in deference to the engineers who designed this system ,I always wire it up as per directions including the ballast resistor.as for that being said ,you can run a 2 pin box without a ballast resistor. I have seen it done .probably wouldn't last
