Re: Rod's AZ A-108
Yeah, it's bare aluminum. I'll go over it with some 400 grit to knock off the overspray and shine it up again.
Gotta get a nice lock or pin to keep it closed.
Toying with ideas for lettering.
How about SKULL VALLEY HIGH?
It's a local town that doesn't actually have a high school. They bus into Prescott. I could do skulls and the lettering in Black down the narrow band..

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate the kudos from such a great group!
Hope Texas John understands that I had to have my shoes tied in the booth, shuffling too much in there. A bit of the freak flag is showing below Derek Small's head.

Re: Rod's AZ A-108
So I'm playing with different ideas.
Here's a drawing I found online.
Here it is pasted on the van with the colors simplified and some changes done with a basic Paint program.
I would only need 4 colors; White, Red, Green and Black.

Re: Rod's AZ A-108
wylee, if you have Windows, you should have Paint.
I just sat down one day and messed around with it until I could do basic stuff. Photoshop is powerful and a much harder learning curve. I've tried to mess with it a few times, but am hopeless with it.
You just Zoom the image in Paint and change the pixel colors a bit at a time. That image looks terrible blown up, but in the small size it's enough to get the idea across.
Blacklabel, the Significant Other also likes the Skull Valley High idea better. Still have to cut and buff before anything else, so it will be a while. My shoulder is unhappy, so it's not happening soon. I do like the idea of breaking up the rectangle with a circle or oval. Here's another quick thought. A giant billard ball on the side.
Number 4 since Purple is a favorite and opposite Yellow on the color chart.

Re: Rod's AZ A-108
I have contacted a local graphics guy and we are hammering out the last details on the decals for the van. I won't post what the final design is until after it's on and made it's debut at Musclecars At The Strip (MATS) in Las Vegas the second weekend in April. KSNPVMT from the HAMB forum is trying to get his done enough to go too.
Any other vans going to make the show?

Re: Rod's AZ A-108
Rod, can you take pics of KSNPVMT's van for me? I'm trying to get the money and parts to bag mine as we speak.
Also, my 2 cents on your graphic, maybe a little smaller in the panel part where windows would go on a window van? And get pinstripes that are purple to go around where trim is on the As. Maybe a smaller graphic, and if you have hookups on a pinstriper get some custom stripes done, or if you put stripes around where the trim goes you can use the tape strips. Not as cool, but get the job done.

If he makes it, you can be sure I'll get pictures!
Graphics have been pretty much finalized, just tweaking a couple minor things.

Re: Rod's AZ A-108
All cleaned up for MATS next weekend.
Got reflectors on, the chrome shined up, and a bit of tire dressing.
Still need to cut out, prep and paint a spare tire cover face.
